I am a freelance animator and artist specializing in stop-motion animated documentaries. I am originally from Durham, North Carolina, which is where I first fell in love with film and animation. I worked as a video store clerk in high school, and used my unlimited free rentals to inhale as many movies as possible. That is how I got exposed to the surrealist Czech animator Jan Svankmajer, who inspired me to experiment with stop-motion. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Hampshire College in 2010, concentrating in film studies and sustainable agriculture. For the past five years I have been living in Port Townsend, Washington, working on organic farms and teaching myself the tedious and addicting craft of traditional animation. My work has been shown in a diverse range of venues from the Tribeca Film Festival to a cider pressing at a local farm.
